Stone Identification Card

We now provide small cards certifying the origin of some of our stones.

We understand that it is important for you and your clients to know the origin of the stones, and obtaining certificates of origin from specialized laboratories can be quite expensive. However, we purchase many stones for which we are certain of the origin. Whether directly from mines (raw or cut) or from trusted suppliers who exclusively deal with stones from a specific region (such as our Australian sapphires or Burmese spinels), we can guarantee the origin. This information is always stated on your invoice, but we have recently decided to provide certain identification cards to be handed to your clients.

For all stones of 1 ct and less, we offer you a card certifying the origin, approximate dimensions, and a generic photo. For other stones, we provide the weight, precise measurements, and a photo of the actual stone.

Here are examples of stones that come with the certificate:

- Australian Sapphires
- Montana Sapphires
- Emeralds from the Belmont Mine
- Brazilian Alexandrites
- Burmese Spinels
- Some of our stones come from Madagascar, such as aquamarines, garnets, tourmalines, and many others.

It is sometimes difficult to obtain or ensure the origin.

Sapphires

Melees and calibrated: We have sapphires (and other colored stones) of 1 mm and above in all colors. These sapphires are purchased in large quantities from markets in Sri Lanka or Thailand, cut, and then sorted by size and color. It is impossible to know the origin of each stone.

Other Sapphires

Many of our sapphires come from Sri Lanka; they are bought and traded in the markets of Beruwela and may pass through several hands before being exported. It is impossible to certify their origin without going through a specialized laboratory. These certificates cost several hundred dollars, and the result remains an opinion based on their database.

Other Stones

Some stones, such as quartz (citrine, amethyst, prasiolite, rose quartz, etc.), topazes, certain garnets, or other calibrated stones, are sold in very large quantities, and although we may have an idea of the country of origin, we cannot guarantee it.

For example, we know that our amethysts come from Uruguay or Brazil, our citrine from Brazil, our garnets from Tanzania, and most of our blue topazes from Brazil or Nigeria, but we cannot certify it with certainty.

Melees orders

We are receiving an increasing number of complex requests for melees stones, which can cause delays in processing other orders. As it is important for us to provide the best service, we need to adjust our policy regarding melees orders.

There may be a delay of 24 to 48 hours for orders.

It is possible that fees apply to certain orders for small stones. We always enjoy fulfilling your requests, but this can be time-consuming. Whether it's creating gradients, rainbows, or replicating sunset hues, we may add some fees. Over time, we have gained experience that enables us to find the best options for your needs. Once confirmed, our clients are always satisfied with the result. This saves you time, gives you access to all our options, and prevents you from having to purchase multiple lots to create the designs yourself.

We will provide you with the total price, including fees (if applicable), upon submission. Please note that fees are only applied when we invoice the order; there are no fees during submission. Don't worry; the fees are also quite minimal, reaching a maximum of 20%. However, it is important to understand that it is often the least expensive orders that take the most time to prepare!
