Pierres de Charme had a busy winter and early spring.

Martine and Bénédicte went to Tucson - Arizona, in February, to find lots of new things for you.
It was a very intense trip after two years of pandemic. We were fortunate to have wonderful, trusted suppliers supporting and helping us remotely during this time. We received selections of stones adapted to our market and our needs, but nothing beats the atmosphere of trade shows or Tucson!

It is important for us to attend trade shows in order to develop these relationships in person, to have the pulse of the market and to see the trends. We have noticed a slight increase in prices in general, which is normal after a slowdown in mining operations and the strong demand of the past few years.
|
|
|

We had the chance to renew our usual inventory but also to make some nice finds. Greens and blue-greens are always popular as well as pastel colors like lavender, mint, peach pink, etc.

After a short return to Montreal, they flew to Dubai for the biannual congress of a very important association for us, the International Colored Gemstones (ICA). Martine has been Canada's ambassador for several years and Bénédicte was appointed to the board of directors of the association during this congress.
|

|
They had the opportunity to attend four days of conferences on our industry with topics ranging from discussions between the different gemological laboratories, to origins, through traceability, new treatments, museum collections, panels of discussion, etc.
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
| |
While attending these conferences, our small (but very efficient) team has been busy preparing our new stock just in time for our travels across Canada in March. We love visiting jewelry school students and had the opportunity to introduce Salima (in person) to some of you.
|

|
|

Save the date
We are planning to organize the 2023 networking event to bring together people from the jewelry industry. Many of you wanted to repeat the activity that was a great success in 2022. We are finalizing the logistics and costs, because this year the tickets will be 50.00$ per person including appetizers, drinks and room hire. (Same place as 2022).
